Local Calls:
Within the same area code dial the 7-digit telephone number directly, i.e. 413 0422.

Long Distance Calls:
When calling a subscriber out of the local area dial national access code 0 first followed by the 3-digit area code and then the 7-digit phone number, i.e. 0 252 413 0422.

Operator Assisted Calls:
Dial 131 which will connect you to the operator. They will place the call for you

International Calls
To make an international call from Turkey, dial 00 + country code + area code + telephone number.

Operator Assisted Calls:
Dial 115 for the international operator. The operator will provide the connection for you.
00-800- can be made from any private or public telephone.

Public Telephones

Public telephones are conveniently located throughout the town and required a telephone card which can be purchased at many outlets. (30,60 or 100 units)

Lift the receiver and put your card into the slot. When you hear a beeping sound, dial the number. During the conversation if you hear another beep, it is to let you know that your credits are about to run out. You will see the number of remaining units flashing and the message ‘Change Card’ on the display. When you see this message press the ‘Card change’ button and insert the new card. When you place a call from any kind of phone there will be a charge in accordance with the length of the call and the distance to the called number.

Smart cards

Smart cards, with 100 and 350 units, have been in use since 1996. Smart cards can be used in pay phones which also use credit cards.
