Marmaris Shopping - Bazaar

A visit to the Bazaar is a must. It is a large rabbit warren of shops of all descriptions. If you want to return to a shop, make a note of its location as it is easy to get lost.

You can buy anything your heart desires in the Bazaar, custom made shoes, clothes and jewellery. The tailors are very good and will make garments in a couple of days. Treat yourself to a custom piece of jewellery, it does not take long, and the craftsmanship is excellent. Prices are much cheaper than other countries due to the low cost of labour.

Brand name clothing is everywhere, mostly fakes, but very good fakes, your friends at home won't be able to tell the difference.

Have your shoes custom made, they will fit perfectly, be much cheaper than ready made in the shops and the workmanship is terrific. Once you have had one pair made, you will want more. Ask the cobbler to keep your details and make sure get his. You will want more when you get home. Don't get blisters with new ready made sandals, have some custom made and you will be comfortable for the duration of your holiday.

Spectacles are much cheaper here and will be ready the same day. So if you need new glasses, or want a spare pair, wait until you get here, they are a very good buy.

Bargaining is a must, expect one third off what they ask. Leave the shop if necessary. Another good tip is to get a Turkish person to buy things for you, especially if they are expensive.
